Getting into the deceivers is slow, but yet kind of interesting. it talks about the kids Finn the youngest boy, Emma the middle child, and chess the oldest. The book continues on about their gonna take on the challenge of getting their mom back. But knows there’s another girl named Natalie whose parent is also stuck in the alternate universe. I like Finn a lot because he’s the youngest but also is the clown in the family turning bad into good while also causing chaos. Chess is more of a brave kid who has to become the man of the house while also taking care of his mother and siblings. The big idea of this book is trying to rescue their mother and their friend Natalie’s mom. Why would their mom attempt to go and fix this alternate universe? It’s not her problem. I think chess is gonna come through and be able to lead his brother and sister and keep them safe in this alternate universe where the rules are corrupt. Everything’s a mirror that reflects evil in this world where even telling the truth can be illegal and get you put into jail. I personally don’t like how the author started the book when everyone knows who the kids are and their backgrounds of. Then it precedes to keep everyone doing their own jobs to help save their mothers. His style is good in my opinion because it brings emotion into the story without even realizing it. In the book, the gate to the alternative dimension was destroyed when the kids traveled back. But now they have to grab the lever because it might be the key to lead them into the alternate universe. Personally its starting slow but as I read more they start to plan their mothers rescue which gets more intense as the book goes on. This picture represents the Cops figuring out what is going on and all the planning the kids and the cops are trying to do to fix the situation which they are in. Of course the kids know the cops are working on it but the cops dont know the kids are working on it or even in on it.

Book Talk

My book is the deceivers by Margaret Peterson Haddix and I picked because of two reasons. One its part of a series in which I started reading and it so happens that this is the second book. For two because I enjoy mystery’s that keep you wanting to read when your the kind of person who doesn’t read. I’m looking forward to reading the book by myself and picking apart the book to find the most valuable aspects or things within the book. I’m apprehensive about how this book will turn out based of how the first book ended. Pretty much meaning that the last one ended of the kids escaping a alternate reality of there lives where it goes from good to evil reality then they escape back into there own reality, while there mom is still stuck in the alternate reality. Read probably and charge my laptop!

Do you think any of these changed the audience? I find that they were trying to change the minds of people as they told what supposed good they were supposed to do then committed acts of violence or taking people from there homes. “They committed other acts of force and violence and oppressions which made the Indians realize that these men had not come from heaven.” (89 De Las Casas) also on page (2 Cloud) states “we committed no murders, no depredations, until the troops came here.” Lastly on page (3 Columbus) stated “the seven that I caused to be taken in order to carry them away to you and to learn our language.” This is showing that there were not treated fairly as there taken from there homes, or people backing out on deals.

It fits it for the Indians and Spaniards. For Indians its the brink of knowing work but not how this work is. there work is hunting deer and building teepees while the unknown work is forceful, brutal, and commanding. “They committed other acts of force and violence and oppression which made the Indians realize that these men had not come from heaven.”(89 De Las Casas) Another example of this is when “the Spanish captains, enemies of the human race, pursued them with the fierce dogs they kept which attacked the Indians.”(90 De Las Casas) That going to show that they thought it was going to be easy but the unknown was that Indians gave up a fight and didn’t want to do there dirty work but ended up being beaten and severely hurt if tried to defend themselves, which actually inflicted death among him or herself and many other Indians
