So far in this section the kids lost Natalie after she disappeared and lost the lever which is actually disappointing because now they are stranded in a town with the people that most hate them. They also tried to sneak into the judges office so they could find any evidence on there mom. Later to find out they got locked out and there plan was a bust. Right now chess is feeling that feeling of being hopeless. I can relate and I understand how it feels when a plan goes to crap even when being very important. Throughout this section there onto cases trying to find there mom, Mrs. Morales, and Joe. Eventually with a break through, the kids find there mom and Joe. There mom being a typically parent ends up really happy to see them but try’s to rush them back to the tunnel to get them safely home. Eventually with convincing they get her to settle down and get her to talk to them without the worrying. Later the focus shifts to Natalie and how she ran into her other world dimension twin. Well Natalie and her twin the other Natalie have a long conversation seeing whether not they both can be trusted. Main Natalie tells the other Natalie exactly how she got to this other dimension. In my opinion I find her very ignorant for her decisions that she made. Now she has other Natalie wanting to go see what main Natalie’s dimension and how her life is so much different then her own in her own dimension. Which could be very bad considering what could happen in both universe’s if used the lever to transport everyone. But when both girls go to look at for the lever they find it missing, which turns out could be very bad.

So the kids have finally found a spot in which they can travel through the tunnel into this alternate universe. Saving there moms are very important to them as they know they can be in danger but choose to precede anyways. They skip school and Natalie’s acts sick like to fool the cleaners so that way they can sneakily go. As they enter things appeared the same to Chess, Emma, and Finn. But Natalie is self struck by a thought what might be different as she has never been to this alternative reality. As the kids are sneaking around they spot a women which actually helped them through in the first book. I would think that it would be a brilliant idea in which to follow this lady and catch up and see what she knows. Well that exactly what the kids do. They arrive to this giant house full of windows, which then Natalie spots her father in the window. She finds him happy and smiling which is really odd to her. She later finds out that her grandma is still alive which Natalie and the others follow. Natalie’s grandma is now fearing the worst after Natalie met her and started to hang on her. In my opinion this could be very bad if they get caught. Relaying back to the first book when they were first in the court of this alternative universe, where the court tried to imprisoned them. Now there back and if they got caught the judge will know and get them either imprisoned for life or killed. Now everyone has to keep a secret and secretly get up to Natalie’s room so they could secretly talk. Later Natalie finds out her parents are still married, which is a huge emotional part of her life.

Since the last things have heated up! from the kids finding clues and other items helping them realize what their world really is. As the book progresses they later find the lever that will help them bring them back to the alternative universe. As they try to figure out a way to save there parents and Mrs. Morales. I feel as if they should just leave it alone as the parents were the one who had the plan in the first place. Simply it would have been better if they stuck to letting them deal with the problem. But as time goes they find that they need to find another spot to place this lever that might actually allow them to travel to the alternate universe. Which can only be accessed if the spot co exist in the other world also. Also they make Mr. Morales Natalie’s dad very suspicious because they are constantly sneaking out or quietly talking. Now I know that if you dont want to look suspicious you have to not act suspicious which these kids are not pulling off. Chess is having to step up and be the oldest when times are hard which i understand. Being 10 years old and the man of the house is a huge responsibility for chess, especially when taking care of his younger siblings. Also trying to make a plan to save there mom since she’s all they have left. Now people are trying to erase the kids moms from them by deleting pictures. There also being stocked which is a scary aspect considering the kids made enemies in this alternative universe by telling the truth to innocent people. Lastly the kids are sad and mourning over there moms but as they get closer to getting ready to attempt jumping into the alternate universe things go haywire which could turn bad for the kids or there moms.

Getting into the deceivers is slow, but yet kind of interesting. it talks about the kids Finn the youngest boy, Emma the middle child, and chess the oldest. The book continues on about their gonna take on the challenge of getting their mom back. But knows there’s another girl named Natalie whose parent is also stuck in the alternate universe. I like Finn a lot because he’s the youngest but also is the clown in the family turning bad into good while also causing chaos. Chess is more of a brave kid who has to become the man of the house while also taking care of his mother and siblings. The big idea of this book is trying to rescue their mother and their friend Natalie’s mom. Why would their mom attempt to go and fix this alternate universe? It’s not her problem. I think chess is gonna come through and be able to lead his brother and sister and keep them safe in this alternate universe where the rules are corrupt. Everything’s a mirror that reflects evil in this world where even telling the truth can be illegal and get you put into jail. I personally don’t like how the author started the book when everyone knows who the kids are and their backgrounds of. Then it precedes to keep everyone doing their own jobs to help save their mothers. His style is good in my opinion because it brings emotion into the story without even realizing it. In the book, the gate to the alternative dimension was destroyed when the kids traveled back. But now they have to grab the lever because it might be the key to lead them into the alternate universe. Personally its starting slow but as I read more they start to plan their mothers rescue which gets more intense as the book goes on. This picture represents the Cops figuring out what is going on and all the planning the kids and the cops are trying to do to fix the situation which they are in. Of course the kids know the cops are working on it but the cops dont know the kids are working on it or even in on it.
Book Talk
My book is the deceivers by Margaret Peterson Haddix and I picked because of two reasons. One its part of a series in which I started reading and it so happens that this is the second book. For two because I enjoy mystery’s that keep you wanting to read when your the kind of person who doesn’t read. I’m looking forward to reading the book by myself and picking apart the book to find the most valuable aspects or things within the book. I’m apprehensive about how this book will turn out based of how the first book ended. Pretty much meaning that the last one ended of the kids escaping a alternate reality of there lives where it goes from good to evil reality then they escape back into there own reality, while there mom is still stuck in the alternate reality. Read probably and charge my laptop!

Do you think any of these changed the audience? I find that they were trying to change the minds of people as they told what supposed good they were supposed to do then committed acts of violence or taking people from there homes. “They committed other acts of force and violence and oppressions which made the Indians realize that these men had not come from heaven.” (89 De Las Casas) also on page (2 Cloud) states “we committed no murders, no depredations, until the troops came here.” Lastly on page (3 Columbus) stated “the seven that I caused to be taken in order to carry them away to you and to learn our language.” This is showing that there were not treated fairly as there taken from there homes, or people backing out on deals.

It fits it for the Indians and Spaniards. For Indians its the brink of knowing work but not how this work is. there work is hunting deer and building teepees while the unknown work is forceful, brutal, and commanding. “They committed other acts of force and violence and oppression which made the Indians realize that these men had not come from heaven.”(89 De Las Casas) Another example of this is when “the Spanish captains, enemies of the human race, pursued them with the fierce dogs they kept which attacked the Indians.”(90 De Las Casas) That going to show that they thought it was going to be easy but the unknown was that Indians gave up a fight and didn’t want to do there dirty work but ended up being beaten and severely hurt if tried to defend themselves, which actually inflicted death among him or herself and many other Indians
